Keeping you up to date with all things at Horninglow.

A busy first week back at school,

On Monday we had some visitors in school 2 professional footballers from Burton Albion came to see what the year 5 reading stars were getting up to, Ben Fox and Jack Livesey both sat in on their lesson, then played some football with the children outside. Thank you to the Burton Albion Trust for organising it. See the childrens work area for photos.

On Wednesday thanks to our partnership with Burton Albion Trust 10 of our year 5 children had a fantastic opportunity to take part in the Primary Stars challenge day in Stoke. They took part in a range of activities including active maths challenge, CPR and life saving training. They even had a Tour of the Stadium and had an amazing day.

During the last half term the children have been making poppies and this week these have been put on display in the corridor to mark the centenary of ww1. The children and staff observed a minutes silence in Fridays assembly too. A poignant way for the school to show their respect. More pictures in the childrens work area.

A huge congratulations to Miss Mayhew and her Fiance for the safe arrival of their Baby Girl.
